The partners here are affiliated to the Department of Mathematics, and with the Laboratory for Advanced Computation in the Mathematical Sciences. The research activities relevant for SCAT are mainly in fluid dynamics, particularly the following areas of interest:
- Vortex interactions and stability, mixing, coherent structures.
- Fluid simulations using the meshless vortex method.
- Free-surface flows, nonlinear dynamics and singularities, turbulent flow.
